Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, political deputy of West Azerbaijan Province said that special efforts are needed to promote Quranic teachings and sciences in society. Jamshid Mohammadzadeh added the level of Quranic studies has advanced in recent years but more needs to be done to further these studies and present their outcome to the world. Also addressing the guests at the inaugural ceremony was Mohsen Ghaffari Azar, director general of the province’s culture and Islamic guidance department, who said that unlike previous years, this year’s exhibition is held in three sections: books and software, artworks, and sideline activities. “360 pieces of artwork, 270,000 book titles and 10,000 CDs and DVDs with Quranic themes are on display at the exhibition,” he noted, adding that 140 publishers are presenting their publications in 140 pavilions.
