The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Cultural Center in Ottawa, Canada, planed to held a Quran competition in the holy month of Ramadan, IRNA reported. The contest was held in the categories of memorization of the entire holy Quran, memorization of 10 Joz (sections) of the Quran and memorization of the 30th Joz. Preliminary rounds of the contest will be held in mosques and Islamic centers across the country, while the final round is to be hosted by the cities of Ottawa and Ontario. Winners of the final round will be awarded at the end of the competition.

Summer Quran Courses to Be Held for Teenagers in Morocco

According to “oujdacity.net”, boy and girl students from schools and educational centers in “Vajdeh” and some other cities will take the courses to learn how to memorize and recite verses of the holy Quran. Organized by the country’s Academic Council, the courses aim to discover Quranic talents and familiarize students with correct recitation styles as well as motivate them to memorize the holy book. Top participants will receive awards provided by the Academic Council. There will also be some Quranic and religious speeches delivered by Muslim Quran researchers, speakers and preachers on the sidelines of the courses. Ghana Nat'l Quran Contest Slated for March

A national Quran competition is to be held next month in the African country of Ghana.According to Iran's cultural attaché office in Accra, the competition will be held on March 13-14 in the categories of memorization and recitation of the holy Quran. The annual event is organized by the Iranian cultural attaché office in Accra in cooperation with Ghana Islamic University. There is no age limits for the participants. The closing ceremony will be attended by Mohammadi Iran's ambassador to Ghana, Afsari, Iran's cultural attaché and a number of scientific and cultural figures. Muslims make up around 15 percent of the West African country of 23 million people. According to WAM news agency, in this ceremony directors and instructors of Maktum, Al-Shahamah, Iqra’ and Al-Forghan Quranic centers in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharja and Ajman respectively, were awarded. Sheykh Abdullah Kamali head of Maktum Quran memorization center of Dubai addressed the ceremony, saying that Islam is the religion of Goodness, peace, friendship, cooperation and unity. He stressed that in various aspects of their life, Muslims should follow the teachings of the holy prophet of Islam (PBUH) as an example of human dignity and moral values. “Introducing and praising the top Quranic activists will promote the quality of Quranic activities and it is, therefore, an important step to spread Quranic culture in the country. Memorizers of the Quran from Kyrgyzstan Islamic University Honored

According to the World Muslim Youth Society website, the two students Jom’eh Beik Qorban Ali and Muhammad Esmaiel Olu Abd-ol-Manan were also given a special degree during a ceremony attended by the Kyrgyz mufti and the vice minister of Religious Affairs. The two had not been familiar with the Arabic language but managed to memorize the entire Quran due to their strong perseverance as well as their instructors’ efforts and encouragement. “The officials at the World Muslim Youth Society are doing their best to propagate and expand the Quranic culture in Kyrgyzstan, and all these efforts deserve to be praised,” the Kyrgyz mufti said in a speech at the ceremony. Professors and students of the Quran Faculty were given presents as keepsakes by the Kyrgyz mufti at the end of the function.
