Ghana Nat'l Quran Contest Slated for March


A national Quran competition is to be held next month in the African country of Ghana.According to Iran's cultural attaché office in Accra, the competition will be held on March 13-14 in the categories of memorization and recitation of the holy Quran. The annual event is organized by the Iranian cultural attaché office in Accra in cooperation with Ghana Islamic University. There is no age limits for the participants. The closing ceremony will be attended by Mohammadi Iran's ambassador to Ghana, Afsari, Iran's cultural attaché and a number of scientific and cultural figures. Muslims make up around 15 percent of the West African country of 23 million people.
